Massage therapists promote health and wellness by providing therapeutic massage services that help reduce stress, relieve pain and support overall well-being.
- Learn Swedish massage techniques, anatomy and physiology, kinesiology, pathology, ethics and business practices.
- Gain hands-on experience performing full-body massages for volunteer clients under instructor supervision.
- Develop skills in therapeutic massage, professional communication, client assessment and treatment planning for a variety of populations.

Cost
$7,995 (includes textbooks)
Additional costs: Uniform for events and clinic, CPR certification, massage linens (sheets, blankets, towels)
Notes:
- This course is not eligible for financial aid; however, payment plans are available.
- Students using the payment plan option have up to five business days after registration to finalize their payment plans.
WIOA funding
Students enrolling in this program may qualify for funding under the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) based on the following criteria:
- Income level
- Job loss or dislocation
- Veteran status
- Under-employed or unemployed adults
Students must submit an application to use WIOA funding. To confirm eligibility for funding after submitting an application, students will need to work with the by calling 217-524-5996.

Enrollment
Enrollment in the program is permitted if the applicant meets the prerequisites, listed below, and meets with the program coordinator.
Program enrollment is by appointment only.
Enrollment for the fall cohort is open from mid-April to early July.

Entrance requirements:
- Be at least 18 years of age
- High school diploma or GED
- Be proficient in English
- Must be able to stand and be physically active for long periods of time
