SPRINGFIELD — Lincoln Land Community College will honor veterans at its 31st annual Veterans Day Ceremony on Wednesday, Nov. 11. The ceremony begins at 12:30 p.m. in A. Lincoln Commons on the ϳԹϾW-Springfield campus, 5250 Shepherd Road, and a reception will follow. The public is invited to attend.
The Chatham American Legion, Post 759 will post the colors. The program includes ϳԹϾW President Curt Oldfield, Ed.D. serving as master of ceremonies; ϳԹϾW Trustee Vicki Davis, Ed.D., retired Lt. Colonel, Illinois Air National Guard, and ϳԹϾW Student Dalton Scott, Airman First Class, Missouri Air National Guard providing remarks; ϳԹϾW Student Trustee Rylie Jones presenting the wreath and singing the national anthem; and Charles Walker, ϳԹϾW student, playing “Taps.”
The Veterans Day Ceremony is sponsored by ϳԹϾW Student Engagement and Wellbeing and honors all veterans including ϳԹϾW faculty, staff and students who served in the armed forces.
