Immediate actions
If Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) is observed on campus:
- Call ºÚÁϳԹϾW Police Department (ºÚÁϳԹϾWPD) immediately at 217-786-2278
- Provide location and any pertinent details
- ºÚÁϳԹϾWPD will:
- Respond in person at the main campus or by phone at outreach centers
- Notify the Vice President of Administrative Services
- Contact college legal counsel if needed
- Make notification to any and all students or staff members who are being sought by Federal Immigration Authorities.
If contacted or approached by an ICE official
- Remain calm and professional
- Inform them – “ºÚÁϳԹϾWPD is your point of contact.â€
- Immediately call ºÚÁϳԹϾWPD and give your location
- Ask the agents to wait for ºÚÁϳԹϾWPD
Do NOT:
- Consent to anything
- Accept any paperwork
- If shown a warrant or subpoena, say:
“I am not authorized by the college to grant access to non-public areas or provide any information. Please wait here for ºÚÁϳԹϾWPD so they can assist you.†- For Outreach Centers, Medical District, off-site locations – ºÚÁϳԹϾWPD will contact via phone
Access rules

- Agents may enter freely (e.g., Lincoln Commons, hallways, Student Union, sidewalks, parking lots)
- Restricted/Non-Public areas (Examples: private offices, classrooms, maintenance areas, storage rooms):
